So we’ve completed the prelims breakdown, now it’s time for the main card. Like most of BAMMA’s main cards, there will be lots of titles on the line. Here is the main card breakdown.
As always, card subject to change.
(BAMMA Middleweight Championship) Yannick Bahati(c) vs Mike Shipman: We start of the main card with a very interesting fight where the challenger is the favorite, however don’t count out the champion. Bahati is a BAMMA regular and has been with the promotion since BAMMA 11 and won the belt via submission over Matt Hallam at BAMMA 29. He has precise boxing and a great ground game. However Shipman is on a 10 fight win streak and has been one of the more consistant middleweights on the UK scene. Now, he finally gets his shot for a belt which has been a long time coming. Can he take the throne or will he be conquered by Bahati.
(Vacant BAMMA Welterweight Championship) Nathan Jones vs Alex Lahore: Well, this will no doubt be the grudge match of the night. They’ve been on a path to face each other for a while now. It all started when Lahore felt disrespected by Jones in a post-fight speech, ever since then he has wanted this fight even going so far as to enter into Jones’s gym and recording a series of Facebook videos. Jones has won 7 of his last 8 fights, he ended Walter Gahazda’s undefeated streak and also beat Umer Kayani in Bellator. Lahore is on a 8 fight win streak and as welterweight’s go, he is one of the more well rounded fighters. Eddy Ellis vacated the belt when his BAMMA contract expired, so it’s time there was a new champ. This is by far the most anticipated fight on the card.
(BAMMA Featherweight Championship) Damien Lapilus(c) vs Daniel Crawford: At BAMMA 29 on the prelims Crawford picked a KO victory over Ronnie Mann to make it a 3 fight win streak. After the fight he called for a title shot against Lapilus. Lapulis gave him his wish, the champion holds victories over Ronnie Mann, Jack McGann and was in control of the fight against Martin Stapleton before he was disqualified. However the challenger has an unorthodox style aswell as the hometown support.
(Vacant Lonsdale Heavyweight Championship) Chi Lewis-Parry vs Maurice Jackson: two men making their BAMMA debut’s, I say men loosely, I should say two giants both standing at 6ft 9. Parry-Lewis is undefeated with a record at 6 – 0 – 0 (1) and is known for finishing his fights early. His opponent Jackson, is 3 – 2 – 0 (3) and is an all rounder. It could be decided early or it may rely on who has more gas in the tank.
That’s our breakdown. You can watch the event on DAVE. #WHOATV will be at the event keeping you posted on all the action, let us know your thoughts below on Facebook and Twitter.
